Herky Jerky by James Ulmer
38 pages, newsprint, 8 x 10, $6
James Ulmer's work is normally seen on the wall, but his world of imagery really sings in the book/zine format. Equal parts mark-making/humor/refrenced-image-remixing, Ulmer's seemingly simple line has great depths---the viewer of Ulmers work is greeted by equal parts enjoyment and a puzzle to chew on. Herky Jerky is Ulmer's first high print run book and he worked hard on editing it so that it's a strong and pleasing summary of all sides of his world of imagery.
