Violence Valley by Jesse McManus

56 pages, saddle stiched, 7X7, black and white $8

Well, here's something: a purely beautiful COMIC, from one of Domino's proudest sons Jesse McManus (who's other comic, Spider Monkey, we are proud to publish). This is a really balanced work of art---silent pantomime comics of a elasticy young man getting into all kinds of trouble. What I value in McManus' art is that combination of this weird nod to comics past (or maybe even early animations past)----the syrupy, bouncy, sickly past---alongside a fiercely modernist tone. It achieves this weird combo but it's not in any way a tortured grasp. Rather, it feels really good and fun and alive. Get this one.
