Wild for Adventure by John Broadley, $12, digest size, 104 pages, silk screened cover. Published by Le Dernier Cri in France.

It's hard to find anyone who has encountered John Broadley's work who doesn't adore it. Existing somewhere between Edward Gorey and Shel Silverstein, Broadley makes comics, gags and stories about a both comforting and exciting world that is both familiar and alien. His imagery is quietly spectacular. The best way, I think, to experience his work is through the editions Le Dernier Cri occasionally puts out, this being one of the better ones.
