Wimmen's Comix #6, edited by Becky Wilson. $10. Comic book size, color cover, black and white interiors. 32 pages, published 1972 by Last Gasp.

Finally receiving critical attention 50 years after its initial run, this is one of the most important underground comic series ever published. What's most notable, to me, is the aesthetic approach of the artists included. While the bulk of underground comics talked about rejecting the norms of what the medium consisted of, these artists actually did it. The drawing and storytelling is visionary, and not simply the EC tribute art that more famous underground comics trafficked in. These are a revelation to read.
